Write a 2 to 3 page analysis of the documents and interview. You response should address at least 2 of the following questions:

Were the Arusha Accords (based on your reading of the excerpt) a workable framework for peace?

Should UN (and other) officials, based on the information they had at the time, been able to understand the urgency of the situation based on what Gen. Dallaire communicated to them?

Thinking about pieces you have read earlier (e.g. "Passing of the Great Race" and "Tribes and Tribalism"), can you see evidence of old racial thinking in Western actions, reactions, or lack of action in the case of the Rwandan Genocide?

Do Not Use Outside Sources. The purpose of this assignment is for you to analyze these pieces and think about them. If you use outside sources your grade will be reduced.

This is a formal piece of writing so your response will be graded both for writing and content. The format of your response should be:

11 or 12 point font
1 1/2 or 2 line spacing
1" to 1 1/2" margins
